Tall Cat Tree Can Lessen Cat Aggression

Condo, tunnel, beds and perch - all in single cat tree

Condo, tunnel, beds and perch - all in single cat tree

If you live in a multi-cat household you know that even the best feline buddies can get upset with one another occasionally.  The experts say one of the best ways to cool an ‘aggressive’ situation is to provide a tall cat tree.   Cats are three dimensional and we all know that instinctively they like to be ‘high’.  By providing tall climbable cat furniture you give your cats a place to go where they feel ‘in charge’ and secure.  And a little time in the tall cat perch does wonders to heal the bad feelings and calm the temperament so everyone will get along.

Some of the tallest cat trees available are 86 inches tall (that’s 7 feet 2 inches – you don’t want anything taller if you have 8 foot ceilings).  These tall cat trees come in many different configurations using cat beds, cat perches, cat cradles, and even cat condos and cat tunnels.  Too many choices sometimes delays the decision process.  But one thing that will help is to think about the configuration from you cats’ perspective.  Does your cat like to lie in a place that provides support to its side and back?  If so, make sure your tree choice includes one or two cat beds.  Does your cat like to lay with its front paws hanging over the edge of the table our couch?  In this case your tree choice should include one or two cat cradles.  Or does your cat like to be more mysterious and steal away to dark quiet corners?  Then you want a cat tree that will incorporate a cat condo or a tunnel for your cat to play in.

By trying to make the choice of what cat tree to buy from your cats’ perspective you improve the odds your cat will love it and spend most of its time on the cat tree whether awake or asleep.

Be sure to take a look at all these tall cat trees to find the best options for you and your cat before making your final decision.

Cat Trees Will Redirect Your Cats’ Energy

Cats by their very nature are creatures that love to run, jump and climb.  As we domesticated the cat we took away their environment where they could be very active and burn off their inherent energy.

Most cat owners today expect their cats to be docile compliant fur-balls and just lie around in the sun and not get into any mischief.  Well … have you ever tried to put the genie back in the bottle?

Cats need to be active, and when there is that need, they will find a way to comply.  Our job is to direct that activity so they don’t get into trouble.  The best way to do that is to make sure your cat(s) have a cat tree; and the best cat tree to provide your cat(s) will be one that includes the following features:

Direct Your Cats' Energy

Direct Your Cats' Energy

1.  Should be tall because cats love to be up high.
2. Should be sturdy so that your cats will have a comfortable secure feeling when on it.
3. Should have  multiple levels so your cat will burn energy climbing up and down.
4. Should have condos and cubbies built in so they can play, hide and discover.
5. Should look good so that you will put it in a place that’s the center of family activity.

If you provide your cat with a cat tree that has these features we guarantee you will have a better behaving cat.  The perfect cat only exists in the mind of the cat, but there are things we can do to help our feline friends stay on the road to perfection.

The Cat Tower of Fun and Excitement

Cat Playground

Cat Playground

Normally you have to buy a very large piece of cat furniture to get all the features that are included in this medium sized cat tower.  If you simply don’t have room for one of those gigantic pieces of cat furniture then this cat tower should be of special interest to you.

This particular cat tower has five levels for climbing and when your cat is on the top its over five and half feet above the ground which satisfies its desire to be high.  The various levels include two cat beds, a cat cradle, a cat tunnel and a cat condo – all these features turn this cat tower into a virtual cat playground.  To satisfy your cats’ need to scratch one of the supporting post is wrapped in sisal so your cat has an approved place for this activity.

You would have to go out and buy either one huge piece of cat furniture or several smaller pieces to get all the features we incorporate into this one piece.  Our cat tower provides greater value, takes up less room, and we give you your choice of eight different colors from which to choose so you can match the decor of your home.

Dog and Cat Furniture

Most of our pet furniture product can be used by both cats and small dogs.  Although primarily designed for cats, dogs like and use our smaller pet beds.  Pet cushions fit nicely inside the petals of our Spider, as well as the “button”, “flat” and “tall” beds and add extra comfort for your pet.

Pet Beds

Pet Beds

Dogs love the ‘cuddly’ feeling they get when resting inside the pet bed, and the rim of the bed is not too high to obscure what is going on around them.  They like to be in “the know”, but at the same time want to portray an attitude of ’so what’.  This line of pet furniture is ideal for kittens, small dogs and mature cats that are arthriticly challenged.

What Costs More … Keeping a Dog or a Cat?

According to the industry research firm IBISWorld, the total cost of raising a dog and cat for the full duration of their lives (an estimated 13 years) is $13,330 and $8,506 respectively.  The study revealed that people spend more money on dog food than cat food over the lifetime of their animals, and that significantly more was spent on dogs for veterinarian bills and miscellaneous items such as toys and accessories.

One way cat owners can save money on cat trees and scratching posts is to buy quality products that are known to last longer.  Buying a more expensive, but quality piece of cat furniture, will save money in the long run because it will be around longer and not need to be replaced.  So look for the “value” in cat furniture and not just the cost.

Redirecting Interest is Better than Cat Stop Products

There are a lot of cat stop products on the market today whose purpose is to stop a cat from being where you don’t want it to be.  Cats by their very nature are inquisitive animals and to stop a cat from exploring is about as easy as it is to stop the tide from rising.

This doesn’t mean that the battle is lost.  No … you just have to be smarter.  If you are able to redirect your cats attention and activity you can be successful in keeping your cat from being where you don’t want it to be.  The first thing to do is to provide your cat with something that will tweak their interest and prevent boredom such as a cat pet bed, or a cat tree.  Here is a link to a number of items that will certainly be of interest to your cat and provide both of you years of enjoyment.

The Ideal Solution for Small Spaces

If you don’t have an out-of-the-way place, like a mud room or a basement, to put your cat’s litter box, you may be forced to look at it all the time and be subjected to unfavorable odors. Another concern for cat owners with small children is that their kids will treat the litter box like a sandbox and play with its contents, getting germs all over themselves and the rest of the house. What is the best solution for these problems that will also be convenient for your cat so he doesn’t have accidents?

A Kitty Kabinet base unit is ideal because it’s a beautiful piece of furniture that can hide your cat’s litter box right in plain view. You can easily access the litter box through the cabinet doors, and your cat can enter and exit with ease through the nearly airtight flapper door. Your cat will enjoy his privacy and you’ll enjoy having the litter box out of your sight! There are also Kitty Kabinet cubby units, drawers and shelves available to add onto the base unit, providing convenient space for storing kitty litter, toys and treats all in one place.
