We all know the more you buy of just about anything the less you pay per unit cost. If you can apply this principle to buying pet food you can save money. You should try to buy pet food in the largest quantity possible because you know buying the same amount over time in smaller quantities will cost you more. This practice will give you a larger quantity than you can reasonably use so you should try to split the food and cost with a pet-owning neighbor, friend or family member.

Several times a month we answer questions about making design or color changes to our cat trees and other cat furniture. We always try to be most accommodating and if there is any way we can satisfy the customers’ request we will certainly do that.
Result of a special request
The most common request is to change carpet color. Generally we tell people if you see a color we are using on any cat tree we can put that color where you want it. The only general exception is using the color black. Black carpet doesn’t look good when it goes around a sharp edge. That’s because too much of the backing shows and there is so much contrast you really do notice, so its better to avoid using black on a sharp turn. Other than that, we are happy to modify the color scheme for customers. We do charge a one time $25.00 set up fee for the new color.
Another frequent request is to change the design slightly. Many people will ask if we can make a cat tree slightly taller or a little shorter. And the answer to that is always yes. Before we accept the order for a change of this nature we always communicate with the customer to let them know if that change will affect any other part of the cat tree. For example – someone asks to make a cat tree eight inches shorter. We can do that, but it may result in eliminating a hole and a cubby. We want to make sure the customer knows what effect the change will have on the whole cat tree before just accepting the request and doing it. In many of these cases we go back and say “eight inches will eliminate the hole, but if we only reduce it six inches we can keep the hole – what would you like to do?”
Be aware that these type of changes are available and we welcome your requests. The best way to find out if we can do it is to email us. That will also give us the opportunity to let you know if the change would result in a higher fee, or in some cases it can actually be a savings.

The small cat beds produced by Great Lakes Pet Furniture satisfy all three of these needs. First, the center of each cat bed is padded so its more comfortable to lie on. Second, the center of the cat bed is lined with a heat retention layer that absorbs and radiates back your cats’ body heat for maximum comfort. There are a total of nine holes positioned in the trunk to maximize the exploring activity that cats’ just love to engage in. An extra wide base gives this cat tree great stability.

Our most popular and best selling cat tree for 2009 was the Spider.
The Spider is a small, versatile cat tree loved by both kittens and mature cats. It is a unit which is reversible and because the petals on each side are of different lengths its a little different look and feel when you turn it over.
Kittens Will Love This!
Kittens love to have the short petals down because it gives them a small tight crawl space they love to explore and play in. As the kitten grows it’s easy to extend the enjoyment simply by turning the tree over thus giving the cat a little more room in the area it has grown to love.
Mature cats, especially those with arthritis or spinal problems, love the Spider because it gives them all the benefits of larger cat trees they may no longer be able to enjoy. The petals are spaced so that a mature cat can easily get into the flower. The flower is padded for comfort and it contains our thermal liner that will absorb and retain your cats body heat, and then radiate that heat back for maximum comfort.
So if you are looking for something special for your kitten or most trusted companion and friend look no further than the Spider. Order today and we will have it to you in about two weeks.
The Tropical Flower cat tree condo is a colorful piece of cat furniture that goes well in any decor. Standing only 32″ high, with a width of 40″ from leaf tip to leaf tip, its a perfect size for the living room, dining room or den. It also fits well under an outdoor window to give your cat a window perch to view the outside world.
The two large sculptured leaves are constructed with a heat retention liner providing more comfort for the resting or sleeping cat. That same liner goes into the flower center so your cat will get the save benefit when snuggled in the flower top. The unusual petal design base makes this very stable – so much so, we guarantee it won’t tip over under normal cat use.
The Tropical Flower cat tree is one of our most popular products so we highly recommend ordering early.
